I have been struggling with my weight for a long time now. When I first started dieting I was a teenage girl, about 16 years old. Over the years I tried a lot of diets and managed to know more about them from my own experience. Unfortunately, I also tried many strict diets and those only made things worse. I became very unhealthy and I seemed to get back to my previous weight and even more when I stopped them. Even if you eat normally and not go back to your bad eating behaviour, after a strict diet you still start gaining weight because your body is accustomed with the small amount of calories you previously ate. So, a strict diet is not something that would work on long term, especially if you already have some health problems that might prevent you from achieving your goal. It is very important to check with your doctor and run some tests in order to make sure that you don’t have any health problems before you consider losing weight.
Since I experienced what people call a yo-yo diet, I must tell you it’s not a very good experience, especially for your skin. Usually, stretch marks are the first things that appear after gaining a big amount of weight in a very short time. Other problems which are not that visible but more dangerous are: high blood pressure, cardiovascular accidents, diabetes, etc. So, these are the same problems associated with obesity but since you are gaining weight fast you will be at risk for the same problems. Make sure that you check your weight periodically and if you see that you gained a few pounds, change little things in your diet. It has helped me a lot since I lost weight to control myself and not go back where I started. I’m writing this blog to give others general information about diets and help them choose a diet appropriate for their way of life. This is the most important thing when it comes to losing weight, finding something that suits your needs. Keep in mind that losing weight shouldn’t be a thing that only takes a few months; it should be a reasonable diet that you need to follow your whole life. Otherwise, you will just go back to your old eating habits and gain even more weight.
